5 tools to help boost your Squarespace (and others!) web design
When it comes to stunning website design and an awesome CMS for on-going maintenance it doesn't get much more intuitive than Squarespace. We've been designing, tweaking, coding and developing with the platform for over 4 years now and over this time we've found various tools to help things run super-smoothly. Here are a few of our favourites..
'Identify web fonts on any site.'
This is an awesome tool for quickly finding out what font (incl. attributes) you are actually seeing on any given web page. The installation is real easy too - just drag the Fount button to your bookmark bar and done!
Fount is supported on Safari, Chrome, Firefox & IE8+.
Another incredible useful tool is this eye dropper / colour picker / colour analyser extension. ColorZilla is currently available for Google Chrome and Firefox.
3. The Stocks
There's loads of great royalty-free stock image resources and websites out there, the great thing about The Stocks is that they're all in one place! Be careful though, you can quite easily find yourself scrolling through the stunning images for hours and hours...
Coolors is a slick little colour scheme generator that helps build up a palette of complimentary colour - you can either start from scratch or type/paste in one or two of your existing colour codes and go from there.
5. Squarespace Logo
Back in 2014 Squarespace launch a logo designer allowing 'anyone create a simple logo on their own'. The builder features a suite simple icons (thanks to The Noun Project), heading text and a tagline. Although, when logo design is required for a project with us, we've got our own graphic design specialist we do find Squarespace Logo comes in very handy for getting together quick ideas or small icons/graphic content elements.
