Squarespace Updates: May 2017
Since launching Squarespace Circle just over a year ago, the product & development team at Squarespace have been making a noticeable effort to improve functionality and introduce new features by reaching out to the community - it's really great to see!
Here are some of the recent updates that you may have missed!
Image Block 2.0
This is a game changer for content. With 5 new image block designs available, you can style each one to suit your branding and wider website design. We particularly like the 'Overlay' design which you can see in action on our portfolio pages.
So explore the new image styles, simply click the 'Design' tab in your image block settings. Further info & guide page available here.
The new account dashboard and 'Single Sign-On' allows you to view all of the websites you own as well as all of the site you have been invited to contribute to, with one single log in. Awesome!
This is a great tool for easily navigating between multiple sites - especially if you work on multiple sites like us.
Acuity is an online appointment scheduling software allowing customers to schedule appointments, pay, and complete intake forms online 24/7. Squarespace has now rolled out a new Acuity Scheduling block across all sites.
This is particularly useful for businesses offering classes or appointments for their services.
Style Editor - Undo/Redo
This is a really welcome feature - putting an end to a lot of colour code copying/pasting! You can now make changes and easily undo or redo them, making it super easy to try out different style settings and get things looking just right.
Change history are saved until you exit the Style Editor.
There have also been a few updates to the commerce feature to improve the experience for both users and website owners. These include:
- Personalised checkout domain
- Discounts can now automatically be applied at checkout
- Introduction of new currencies
- Improved Abandoned Cart analysis
Domain Transfer & Management
Since launching Squarespace Domains last April things have developed even further! You can now 'transfer-in' domains from a third party host and make the most of Squarespace's easy-to-use DNS dashboard.
This makes managing your billing and account even easier, as everything can now be in one place!
